We undertook the digital transformation of the official platform for Dimitris Labrellis, Professor of Philosophy at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the University of Pittsburgh. This project centered on migrating a vast and prestigious academic body of work from an outdated WordPress installation to a high-performance, custom-built Laravel architecture.
The Challenge: With a career spanning decades of research, teaching, and authorship, the Professor required a digital archive that could handle hundreds of items—including published books, scientific journals, and lecture notes. The goal was to eliminate the technical "noise" of a generic CMS and provide a clean, scholarly environment.
The Solution: Using Laravel and Livewire, we built a sophisticated, minimalist platform designed for clarity. We developed a bespoke Admin Panel specifically tailored to manage a complex academic bibliography. This allows for the precise categorization of works, ensuring that researchers and students can navigate his intellectual contributions with ease.
Key Features:
-
Precision Data Migration: We successfully migrated a massive database of articles and books from WordPress, preserving every detail of the original citations and metadata.
-
Performance & Scalability: By utilizing Livewire, we implemented a reactive search and filtering system, making the dense archive feel light and instantaneous.
-
Custom Content Logic: The backend was designed to handle various media types—from PDF research papers to gallery-style book presentations—giving the Professor total control over his digital legacy.
The Result: A prestigious and secure digital home that reflects the intellectual authority of Dimitris Labrellis. The new site provides a fast, multilingual, and future-proof reference point for the international philosophical community.
